At Oregon MUFON, we have a number of decades of experience in ufology, and we want you to benefit from that. We've put together a list of books, videos, web sites, and movies that we recommend with some brief annotations as to why we recommend them.
Getting good information about UFOs in not at all easy. The phenomenon itself is so odd that getting a handle on it takes years of study. You can't just read a book or two or view a few documentary videos and think you got it down. You really need to survey the field: the good, bad, and the ugly. And believe us, it all exists in the wild and woolly field of UFOs.
Here are our recommendations. Let us know what you think.

- Video documentaries are a bit spotty for good information, but here's some good ones. (Some audio materials are also included here.)
- Some excellent web sites exist if you are looking for solid information. But a whole lot more lousy ones are out there on the net. Be careful out there!
- Here are some UFO-based movies with our take on how faithful they are to the real phenomenon.
- Here's our recommendation for good, reliable, mainstream information about UFOs from the professional organizations and body of work of scientists, scholars, engineers, investigative reporters, religious experts, and anyone else who's an authority in our society and would normally have loads of great information: ZILCH. ZERO. NOTHING. NADA. That's right! There are absolutely no sources of mainstream information about UFOs that would help you understand the phenomenon. This information is almost certainly locked up in deep black, special access programs run by our military and intelligence establishment with your tax dollars. There is no public access to this information.
Now that I've made my point that there is virtually nothing publicly available of any worth from mainstream scientists and scholars about UFOs, here are some resources that are pretty good.
